Is there a nightlife in Nakhon Ratchasima besides
the wonderful cacti blooming at night?
Or is it just wishful thinking of those who couldn't
afford a plot for running a bar in Pattaya?
"Nightlife" in Korat starts with the "Night Bazar"? What's
it got to do with "nightlife"; it closes at 9 p.m., a time
when the "night" hasn't barely started. Yes,
even most of the department stores open until
10 p.m. But if I haven't got my own transportation
that's already too late to catch a public bus. Maybe a
few tuktuks and samlors are still around hoping to find
some late customers.
Conclusion: there isn't any nightlife
in Korat city. Staying up late isn't a rule, it is a
rare exception. And now look at the rising crime rate
due to the recession: Who would risk a night out to get
robbed anyway?
When you're still younger and haven't
lived in Korat as long as I do you might still see it
different. But I do enjoy nightfall outside of town.
Though it isn't any less dangerous to walk around with
the snakes and other harmful creatures coming out...
